Investment Management Services

Your SECU Financial Partners consultant is here to explain your investment options, develop an investment and portfolio allocation strategy that serves your goals, and help you handle account setup and ongoing management. Our investment management services include:

Advisory Platforms

We have access to a variety of advisory platforms to pair you with investment portfolios optimized for your goals, objectives, and current asset holdings.

  • Centrally managed platforms are turnkey solutions providing asset management, account administration, portfolio monitoring, and rebalancing.
  • Advisor-driven platforms give your SECU Financial Partners consultant an active role in customizing portfolio management and asset allocation—even making trading and rebalancing decisions.

Mutual Funds and Exchange Traded Funds (ETF)

SECU Financial Partners has access to a full range of mutual funds and exchange-traded funds. Mutual funds offer diversified portfolios of stocks, bonds, and securities. ETFs also offer the benefit of diversified funds but are traded on an exchange. We’ll help you understand the tax differences between the two and how one or both could play a role in your investment strategy.

Investing in mutual funds involves risk, including possible loss of principal. Fund value will fluctuate with market conditions and it may not achieve its investment objective. ETFs trade like stocks, are subject to investment risk, fluctuate in market value, and may trade at prices above or below the ETF’s net asset value (NAV). Upon redemption, the value of fund shares may be worth more or less than their original cost. ETFs carry additional risks such as not being diversified, possible trading halts, and index tracking errors.

Equities

When you invest in equities, you’re buying shares of a company’s stock and are subject to risk and reward according to that company’s market performance. SECU Financial Partners consultants are well versed on current trends and challenges in the equity market and will help you make sense of it so you can make informed decisions.

All investing involves risks, including loss of principal.

Taxable and Tax-Exempt Fixed Income

Seeking a lower risk investment approach? We’ll introduce you to competitively priced fixed income products, which pay out in interest or dividend payments until the products reach maturity. These may include U.S. treasuries, government agency treasuries, mortgage-backed securities, and municipal and corporate bonds.

Fixed income products are subject to market and interest rate risk if sold prior to maturity. Values will decline as interest rates rise and investments are subject to availability and change in price.

Alternative Investments

Interested in expanding your investment strategy beyond conventional equity and fixed income markets? For qualified investors, we have access to private equity, managed futures, commodities, and other alternative investments. These typically require a higher minimum upfront, have higher fee structures, and are more illiquid than traditional investments.

Alternative investments may not be suitable for all investors and should be considered as an investment for the risk capital portion of the investor’s portfolio. The strategies employed in the management of alternative investments may accelerate the velocity of potential losses.

Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT)

Real estate investment trusts (REITs) are alternative investments that pool money from many investors and invest it in income-producing real estate. Because most REITs are traded on the stock exchange, they are highly liquid compared to investments in physical real estate properties. We can help recommend REIT investments that complement your overall financial strategy.

Investing in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) involves special risks such as potential illiquidity and may not be suitable for all investors. There is no assurance that the investment objectives of this program will be attained.
